The United Methodist Women

Historically, the United Methodist Women have played a major part in the life of the church and in so many ways have become the church's 'backbone.' And, so it is with our unit of the United Methodist Women.

This is an extremely active group of women who are committed to the work and ministry of the church, with a particular interest toward missions, both locally and beyond.   They work tirelessly to insure the congregation's knowledge of what is happening within our own community as well as events around the world that impact our lives and how we might support our sisters and brothers.

This dynamic group of ladies have made a tremendous difference in the lives of others by supplying numerous health kits, school bags, blankets that are used by children, flowers, fruit baskets and love gifts to our shut-ins, ice cream socials and care to a local retirement facility, gifts to special mission programs when babies are born to members of the congregation.

They honor several persons of the church each year with special membership pins and make a gift to missions in their honor, they sponsor showers and coordinate other activities for the church.

Further, without their endearing support of the twice annual Barbeque, Flea Market and Bake Sale, the task would be impossible.

Their accomplishments could go on and on, but suffice it to say that their love and support of the church is without equal. Our unit of the UMW is divided into two circles, a Day Circle (which meets in the mornings) and an Evening Circle (which meets in various members homes).   These circles meet several times throughout the year and jointly on other occasions.
