Renea
Slater, Senior Pastor
Pastor Renea Denise Slater is a native of Natchitoches,
Louisiana. She is the daughter of George and Dora
Bush, Sr. and is one of eight siblings. Renea
has two sons, Illya and Myron. Both serve in the
United States Air Force. She has one daughter,
Tara, who lives in Winder, GA and six grandchildren.
Renea is a former school teacher. She attended Candler
School of Theology at Emory University,
graduated with a Masters in Divinity and has
served as pastor within the United Methodist
Church of the North Georgia Conference for
fifteen years. Rev. Renea has served the
following churches: Oconee Street UMC in Athens, GA,
Cascade UMC in Atlanta, St. Paul UMC in
Gainesville, GA, St. John UMC in Augusta, GA,
and currently serves Lithonia First United
Methodist Church.
Renea’s favorite pastime is reading, exercising, attending
theater, and movie going.
Favorite Scripture: “I hereby command you,” says the
Lord, “be strong and courageous, do not be
frightened or dismayed; for the Lord your God is
with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

Jeanine George, Secretary
Jeanine George is a native of
Lithonia. She and her husband have a son
and a daughter.
Their son is currently serving in the Marine
Corp and is scheduled to leave soon for his
second tour of duty overseas. Their twelve year
old daughter is in Middle school. They have one
grandchild.

Vada Coleman, Director of Music
Vada Coleman is a native Texan and has been a
middle & high school Choral Director for over 15
years. She is the proud mother of two sons,
Christopher, 22 and Jonathan, 19, who both share
with their mother’s passion for music. She
served as the choir director at Shiloh Christian
Church in Snellville, Ga for 6 years before
accepting the position to serve at Lithonia
First UMC.
The committed servant is a featured soloist who
acknowledges Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Each week, Vada takes delight in leading the joyful voices who make
up the Lithonia First UMC Chancel choir.
Together, we enter into His gates with
Thanksgiving and His courts with praise. |
